CONSUMERS VERDICT ON IPHONE 8 VS SAMSUNG S7

Apple already sold millions of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus units, but launch weekend estimates fell short of what’s expected from typical iPhone launches. It’s not that the iPhone is losing its appeal all of a sudden, but this year isn’t a usual one for Apple. The best iPhone of 2017 hasn’t even launched yet, as the iPhone X won’t be released until early November, which is why many buyers skipped the iPhone 8 models. But the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are still great phones. In fact, we called the 8 Plus the  best smartphone in the world  right now,  boring though it may be . The testers over at  Consumer Reports  don’t agree though, and they believe that old Samsung phones are better than the iPhone 8. The organization ranked the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as the top two devices when it comes to performance,  Yonhap News  reports . The iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 were ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, with Samsung’s 2016 Galaxy S7 sitting in the third position. That’s right,

UNLIMITED DATA ON 5G

5G will indeed be able to send data faster than 4G  -- probably something like 10 times faster than the new advanced versions of 4G. But those peak speeds often exist only in ideal conditions. By contrast, 5G should be more reliably fast. In other words, you'll still be able to update Facebook, send that email attachment and stream your favorite TV show, even in crowded areas like city centers and stadiums where today's 4G networks often struggle. 5G stands for fifth-generation network technology, and it should transform our digital lives as profoundly as previous generational shifts. Back in the 1990s, 2G was mostly good enough for text only, but 3G opened up the world of photo sharing and 4G made streaming video practical. 5G won't just boost reliability, though. It could also accelerate new technologies like  augmented reality , help self-driving carssend time-critical messages to one another, and link to the network everything from pollution sensors to health monitors.

"KRACK" BUG SPITS TERROR ON WIFI

use Wi-Fi every day -- you may even be on it right this very moment -- and that means the device you're using is at serious risk of being hijacked. Researchers have discovered a flaw in the security protocol that's a fixture in almost every modern Wi-Fi device, including computers, phones and routers,  reported ZDNet  on Monday. A weakness in the WPA2 protocol, meant to protect both wireless networks and devices, was  discovered by computer security academic Mathy Vanhoef , and is being nicknamed "KRACK," short for Key Reinstallation Attack. The bug ultimately could allow hackers to eavesdrop on network traffic -- bad news for anyone sending sensitive or private information over a Wi-Fi connection. These days, that's pretty much all of us, although this could hit businesses using wireless point-of-sale machines particularly hard. It's yet another weak spot in the wireless connections now woven into the fabric of daily life. Just last month, for instance,

A LOOK INTO 2018 HONDA ACCORD

In short, the Accord is no longer a default option for the nuclear family; that territory has been ceded to the crossover class. It’s not just a vehicle for someone who simply needs to get from point A to point B. The 2018 Accord is a car for those who drive a car because they like to, because it’s sleek and fun. This isn’t to say Honda has abandoned practicality. Quite the contrary, in fact; the Accord’s condensed exterior hides a more spacious interior with added rear legroom as well as a larger trunk. The Japanese automaker has also made its suite of advanced safety systems standard for 2018, so it’s not as if it can’t be used as a family vehicle. There also won’t likely be a glut of Honda sedans lining up outside the race tracks of America. The 2018 Accord simply takes the weaknesses of the car—the things that have caused so many drivers to defect to crossovers and SUVs—and turned them into strengths. Athletic Aesthetic Honda invited a few dozen automotive analysts, journalists

GOOGLE HOME: REVIEW

Google Home is the future, but in the present. The home of tomorrow is quickly becoming the home of today and thanks to devices like Amazon Echo and Google Home, disembodied voices can help you fill the organisational void in your lives. Google Home’s USP is helping you out in the home – it’s designed to be the hub of your family’s life, helping you stay on top of what’s going on while also answering those burning IMDB queries about that actor in that film you once watched ten years ago. Don’t expect Google Home to offer The Jetsons robot maid Rosie-levels of household help though – it’s not going to clean your car or mop your floors – but it will let you know if little Timmy has football practice after school next Wednesday and what the time is in New York. Google’s AI assistant is, in fact, a compact, internet-connected speaker no bigger than a small vase. It’s designed to be unobtrusive and stylish – to blend in with your home decor. The elephant, or cylinder, in the room is the
